All Love, No Bull

All Love, No Bull

Suffice it to say, these are divisive times. For all the talk in recent weeks of unification, it appears that once more the cynics will, for the most part, reign victorious.

One has to ask, if we can’t treat each other as humans should, can we at least give it a go the way animals would?

This rather unconventional avian-bovine pair have been going strong for ten years. They met back in the halcyon days of January 2011 at an “eco-lodge” in Grisborne, New Zealand. The goose had just lost a mate at the hands of an angry emu and managed to forge a friendship with the pictured Highland cattle when he was none but a calf. Goose found solace in bull, and they’ve been inseparable since. Our monogamous hero has even become a bona fide member of the cattle herd.

The pair is undeniably a paradigm for seeing past differences, finding common ground, milking it for all it’s worth, getting over the beef, forgetting about the goose egg. Okay, so those last two or three were just in good pun, but seriously people, if this beast and bird can make it work, why can’t we all just get along?
