When It Came Down To The Wire

As suggested in the later months of 2013, HAIM’s ‘The Wire‘ was among our favorite songs of the year. At some point — while the band’s debut, Days Are Gone, was in heavy rotation — it occurred to us that the song could be used as the opening theme to a very different-looking TV show about the systemic inequity in Baltimore — you know, The Wire.

Of course, the band’s infectious power-pop starkly contrasts with the weighty drama of the show. But what about season four? Despite the illustrative ends that Namond, Michael, Randy, and Dukie meet, there are some lighter moments to be celebrated. The characters, who we all came to know and love, deserve a light-hearted tribute, right? Here’s a reimangined take on season four’s opening credits:
