The Harold Ramiswarams
February 27th, 2014
As kids, no movie had a bigger impact on my brother and I than Ghostbusters. And no Ghostbusters character meant more to us than Egon Spengler — probably because he was a giant dorkus. Even his name was supremely nerdy sounding. As every eulogy will remind you, Harold Ramis made being a geek look great. But he did a lot more than that. He made movies that perfectly balanced humor with humanity, with pathos. It sucks to discover he spent the last few years of his life in tremendous pain. May he rest in peace. May his lovely stories live forever.
